So, if you're in or near Bathurst and fancy yourself a bit of culture, gear up for Love Never Dies, the sequel to that little classic, The Phantom of the Opera. This show boasts one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's catchiest musical scores, and it comes complete with a live orchestra that has more members than your average family reunion. With a cast of 36 talented folks including Ben Lewis and Anna O'Byrne, you'll be cheering for the performers and possibly wondering how they manage all those costume changes—over 300 costumes, no less, which is like dressing for every occasion you can think of. Plus, they've gone all out on the sets, with more than 5000 light bulbs illuminating the scenes, so you might need to wear sunglasses indoors.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, 16 February 2025, at 1:00 PM, and head over to the Ian Macintosh Theatre on William Street. It's a good excuse to grab some mates—just make sure to bring along a group of 10 or more, because snagging tickets for a sweet price of $15 each is not a bad deal. But if you're flying solo, no worries; BMEC members get a nice discount while non-members will still score tickets for $25. So get ready for a melodramatic romp filled with tunes, theatrics, and perhaps some moments where your jaw might hit the floor.
